چکیده

Ergot alkaloids (EAs) are mycotoxins produced by several species of fungi the genus Claviceps , among which purpurea is most widespread in Europe. This has been found many economically important cereal grains, such as rye, wheat, triticale, barley, millet and oats. The distribution EAs contamination a sporadic incidence with factors involved its occurrence, greatly varying between fungal strains, geographic regions, host plants regional/local weather conditions, at same time emphasizing that cool, damp favours ergot enhancing germination sclerotia. aim this study was to investigate occurrence sclerotia wheat rye grain samples (n = 64) taken during year 2021 from Croatian producers located Central Eastern parts Croatia. In two presence detected amount 259 mg/kg 536 mg/kg, whereas none tested positive for A higher determined (18% contaminated, max 167.4 µg/kg), while lower frequency contamination, only one sample (1.9 %), (68.5 µg/kg). results pointed low-level cultivated whole investigative period. However, although low percentage determined, content than allowed legislation foodstuffs. Because levels these can vary depending on number factors, further research them required over longer period under different cultivation processing conditions.

Aptamer-Based Extraction of Ergot Alkaloids from Ergot Contaminated Rye Feed

Ergot alkaloids are mycotoxins which can be found in food based on cereal-crops, due to a contamination of plants by fungi of the genus Claviceps. The ingestion of ergot contaminated cereal crops can lead to a severe poisoning known as ergotism. For food and feed safety purposes, the extraction of ergot alkaloids from ergot contaminated flour was investigated. For the specific recognition of er...

Analysis of Ergot Alkaloids

The principles and application of established and newer methods for the quantitative and semi-quantitative determination of ergot alkaloids in food, feed, plant materials and animal tissues are reviewed. The techniques of sampling, extraction, clean-up, detection, quantification and validation are described. The major procedures for ergot alkaloid analysis comprise liquid chromatography with ta...

Dichlorinated and Brominated Rugulovasines, Ergot Alkaloids Produced by Talaromyces wortmannii.

UHPLC-DAD-HRMS based dereplication guided the detection of new halogenated alkaloids co-produced by Talaromyces wortmannii. From the fungal growth in large scale, the epimers 2,8-dichlororugulovasines A and B were purified and further identified by means of a HPLC-SPE/NMR hyphenated system. Brominated rugulovasines were also detected when the microbial incubation medium was supplemented with br...

Screening Isolates for Ergot Alkaloids

A procedure was developed to isolate and determine ergot alkaloid production by Acremonium coenophialum, the endophytic fungus of tall fescue. The procedure established that macerated leaf sheath or pith from inRorescence stem placed either in a liquid medium or on a corn meal-malt extract agar medium produced isolated mycelium and characteristic conidia within a 3to 3.5-week period. Once isola...

Ergot Alkaloids Produced by Endophytic Fungi of the Genus Epichloë

The development of fungal endophytes of the genus Epichloë in grasses results in the production of different groups of alkaloids, whose mechanism and biological spectrum of toxicity can differ considerably. Ergot alkaloids, when present in endophyte-infected tall fescue, are responsible for "fescue toxicosis" in livestock, whereas indole-diterpene alkaloids, when present in endophyte-infected r...
